Mary Jane Hayes, a former resident of Long Island,
    New York and now a full time resident in St. Augustine,
    Florida is the author of Emma’s House of Sound,
    a story about a deaf child.

    The book is inspirational, promotes understanding,
    and motivates children with normal hearing to
    understand the life and experiences of a deaf child.

    Hayes is a graduate of Dowling College in Oakdale,
    New York and began her graduate work at The
    College of William and Mary. She then received her
    MA from Adelphi University and graduated in 1986
    from New York University where received a
    Certificate in Advanced Studies in Organizational
    Leadership and Policy Development.  

    Mary Jane wrote a three act play, based on Emma's House
    of Sound, for the Limelight Theatre in St. Augustine. The
    performance took place in May 2009. She continues to write
    and hopes to educate and sensitize children in her
    storytelling.
